I believe, if we take habitual drunkards as a class, their heads and their hearts will bear an advantageous comparison with those of any other class. There seems ever to have been a proneness in the brilliant and warm-blooded to fall into this vice. The demon of intemperance ever seems to have delighted in sucking the blood of genius and generosity.
- Abraham Lincoln
Current statistics show that there are nearly 14 million alcoholics (that is 1 in every roughly 13 adults and as of 2010 the number is growing) in the United States alone, and the numbers are comparable by population in the U.K., Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the rest of the world. And it appears that the downturn in the economy is increasing those numbers. That’s a lot of alcoholics! We are in good company too (see the list of famous alcoholics).
Unfortunately, there is not a lot of levity involved in the day to day life of the drinker. People who are victims of alcohol abuse need to be careful when they say to themselves “Oh – I’m not that bad”. All advanced alcoholics used to say that very thing at the beginning of their drinking careers too, until continued use took them from the light category, to intermediate, then advanced. It’s like anything else – you do it long enough and you become a pro.
With all of us who have, or are currently suffering from alcohol addiction, the fact remains that some alcoholics get well and some don’t. With some it takes years to recover, and with most it takes a long time through the standard methods.
Many people are now successfully using Max’s formula to stop drinking: “How I Stopped Drinking” by Max Fisher. It’s the ultimate formula to just walk away from alcohol – it’s very powerful, it’s easy to do, and it will give you the relief you have been looking for:
“Following the steps, I was able to stop drinking, which I really believed I would never be able to do.” - Shawn M.
“I tried your formula and I have put down the drink for the first time in three years.” - Carrie T.
“Dear Max, I was up to almost a fifth of vodka a day and was desperate to stop. After following your directions to the letter, which were suprisingly easy, I have been able to stop drinking. I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you.” - Derek C.
“I just started using the 5 Step Formula and can’t believe how fast it works. I haven’t stopped drinking completely, but I’m getting there - I can get a job now - thank you Max.” - Joe P.
