When alcohol takes over your life, at first we tend to think, actually in some cases for a very long time, that we will be able to get it under control. But usually it doesn’t work that way. You can get to the point where your drinking is out of control and you just can’t see a way out.
This could be discouraging for you if you’ve hit an unacceptable low because of the drinking in your life, but you always have to start right where you are, there are no exceptions, no matter what your circumstances may be.
Whether or not you are giving serious consideration to putting a stop to your drinking, look at it this way. If you continue to drink, where will you be in 6 months? A year? Two years?
You can also reverse that train of thought. If you stop drinking, where will you be in 6 months? A year? You get the idea. The difference between the two options as you are well aware, have very different outcomes.
Give this some serious though. Look toward the future. Is it worth your best shot to give yourself a chance at a better life?
